April fools? Not us!

The day started with daddy breakfast and an epic Duplo building session. I was not about to interrupt this for our usual routine of Munchkin Sport. It’s fine, we can do double tomorrow. Back to the Duplo. There were arguments for the slides – we only have 3 and they each wanted 2. Genevieve created a tall tower with a swing at the top and a slide going down.

Then it was time for Boppin Tots. But the kids wanted shakers. Cue rummaging for L.O.L. Doll hair goal curlers that I hurriedly filled with Lego to make shakers.

Then time to bake/make rainbows for the neighbours. Banana cake. I hate banana. Kids liked the baking bit. I hated the smells and final result (but Stephen loved it).

Then lunch. I did get to eat a baked potato – hurrah for home lunches! And the kids hoovered up all their beans and toast #winning

After lunch James had a preschool Zoom video meeting to sing songs. Trouble is 14 preschoolers don’t understand the idea of only one person talking at a time. Pretty entertaining to watch. The singing was enjoyed.

The next item on the kids’ list for the day was for Genevieve to plant her carnivorous garden and for James to re-pot his sunflowers. Process was smooth and uneventful. Kids loved being in the garden so they played tag for a while. Then the real fun started with What’s the Time Mr Wolf. Epic photos.

At this point everyone needed to calm down and chill out. So it was time for Genevieve’s High School Musical education to continue.

Seamlessly the ending of the film rolled into Grandma Lindsey time. Today’s activity was playing a description game. Hilarious and very engaging.

Just enough time for a little bit of one of the many iPad educational games Genevieve has to play daily before dinner. Then bed, thankfully.

I went for a 5K run and ate a whole iced finger to deal with my emotional turmoil of the day. But at least no-one crashed their digger into our garage – that actually happened to one of my friends.
