Today’s toast request was a tiger that looked like James’s drawing from pre-school. We were all impressed with Stephen’s toast carving skills (although he didn’t think it was his best work).
After breakfast we started Easter by watching a local church’s Good Friday kids’ service. It was lovely. The kids really enjoyed it, especially the rainbow making participation element.

I attempted to make fudge today, or as the kids call it “smudge”. I followed what claimed to be an easy recipe. It lied. It was time consuming and then turned to toffee. I was not happy.
The sun was shining and so I got the water table out and sat in the sun catching up on the blogs while the kids played. They had a lot of fun. I had a parenting win by remembering to put sun cream on them both, but this was swiftly followed by a fail as I missed James’s neck as well as myself entirely. Oh well. You win some and you lose some.
Plus the sunshine was a brilliant excuse to eat rocket lollies! Yeah!
There was lots of water painted onto various surfaces in the garden documented by these lovely photos.
James took himself off to the loo upstairs and came down very pleased with himself. He’d apparently got undressed and redressed again. It was a good attempt, but both his pants and shorts were on back to front. Better luck neat time!

We played outside with the toys and bubble wands for the rest of the afternoon until it was time for the chats with Grandma Lindsey, and then we had dinner.

I even managed to bathe and put both kids to bed totally on my own as Stephen had overdone it by joining us in the garden for a bit and had gone back to bed. #winning
