Today I got up and got myself out of the house for a run. I ran 5K for the first run since Stephen got sick. I wore my awesome new trainers and I listened to another podcast. It was great to get out but a little knackering. And not my fastest, but the important thing is that I went. Yes!

Today we went back to the school work a bit with some Maths Challenges for Genevieve. She likes the maths so generally I can persuade her to get the work done. But her English work is still a nightmare. So we sacked off the last of the English challenges for the week but did all of the maths. You win some, you lose some.
James, on the other hand, did some brilliant counting worksheets all by himself. He was very proud of his work.

The afternoon was spent trying to reconstruct Lego models for all the mixed up sets. The police vehicle was finished and we moved onto the boat truck set.
While we were sorting the Lego, James discovered a very dirty 1p coin. This prompted Stephen to get the kids involved in a “science experiment” using HP sauce to clean them. Super cute watching them hanging on his every word. They are really missing their daddy at the moment. He’s obviously home and is trying doing things with them, but he’s so wiped out that it’s not the usual daddy/children interaction and they’re very aware of that.
Stephen has discovered the new version of Danger Mouse on Sky and the kids are totally hooked. It’s both awesome and also highly entertaining watching Stephen trying to explain to the kids how the show “breaks the forth wall” and what that means.
Today I got surprise number three from Stephen. It was a Bettys tea shop cake delivery consisting of a box of six chocolate-filled Gooey Rascals. I feel well and truly spoilt. Also, I had a slight revelation when Stephen said I could heat them in the oven to make them even gooier. Unfortunately this was mentioned after I had already devoured the ration for the day. All good, there are still five left to enjoy!

I also had a surprise delivery from my This Mum Runs (“TMR”) running group. They knew I’d been struggling this week so had grouped together and left me a care package on the doorstep. It included some M&M mini eggs, a relaxing face mask, some gorgeous hand cream and (best of all) two cans of cocktail to help me unwind. I love my running mummies!
Happy moment for the day – going for my run.
Time for myself today – my run, plus cuddles on the sofa with Stephen watching Jack Ryan.
