Monday, my old adversary, we meet again

I was really hoping that Mr Johnson was going to announce last night that we could take our children to their grandparents’ house as part the relaxed lockdown measures. Unfortunately that is not what he said. I am disappointed. But anyway. Here we are. Monday. Again.

Today I don’t feel like I’ve achieved much or that I’ve done lots with the kids, and there aren’t many pictures. It’s a bit rubbish but not every day can be brilliant, especially given the circumstances. But here’s what we did do during the day.

Genevieve managed to get her maths and English done and did both well. Hurrah!

I managed to email off all the amazing things Genevieve has been doing towards her Rainbow badge challenges, including this awesome Arcimboldo fruit colouring she did!

James and Genevieve both started (and only Genevieve finished) lovely “thank you” sheets to go on the front door for the postie! We’re looking forward to seeing their reaction.

Stephen had two naps during the day. He’s still knackered after just a couple of hours.

I learnt a new life hack and immediately had to try it. It’s revolutionised how we store our cereal boxes. Stephen initially mocked me but was quickly convinced when he saw the end results.

So neat and so pleasing!

Genevieve had her first Beavers meeting on Zoom. She was so excited! They did a multiple choice quiz that she insisted on doing all by herself and did really well.

Just before dinner we had Grandma Lindsey and Grandad Lawrie chat time. Even though we can’t see them in person, it’s lovely to chat via FaceTime.

After the kids were in bed, I ended the day with Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream (including bonus home-made cookie dough and lashings of squirty cream). It was amazing. I know how to live in lockdown!
