The morning started with a very specific breakfast order from Genevieve. Fried eggs, sunny side down. We’d talked the day before about all of the ways you can cook eggs and that one had caught her fancy. We happen to have two very small single egg frying pans that were perfect for the job. Genevieve was very happy with the results!

Megan and the children headed off to Riverhill Himalayan Gardens while I stayed at home to rest. Unbeknownst to the children, Megan had arranged for a meet up with Auntie Daisy and Uncle Ben. Needless to say it was a very happy reunion!
They had a huge amount of fun in the gardens, particularly in the adventure playground. There was a competition for the best/most stylish slide dismount. Looking at the pictures I’m not sure if the kids or Auntie Daisy enjoyed it most!
Genevieve took time on the cargo net to make sure she was ready for her close up. It wasn’t too long ago that wasn’t so keen on the netting, but now it’s second nature to her.

While the gang were romping about in the woods, I did a little bit of exercise myself on the turbo trainer I’d set up in the garage. It was tough going and I got tired excruciatingly quickly, but boy did it feel awesome to actually be doing something physical.

Megan and the troops arrived home after their allotted two hour slot at the gardens and we all ate lunch together. I then disappeared for a sleep while the kids cuddled up with Auntie Daisy and Uncle Ben on the sofa to watch a film.
The biggest shock of the afternoon was that Megan finally convinced James to try on his school uniform. He looked so smart – I can’t believe he’ll soon be at proper school!

The kids tucked into their dinner after Auntie Daisy and Uncle Ben left for the evening. They were ravenous after their morning’s adventure and the food quickly disappeared. After dinner it should have been calm play time, but instead the kids were riding each other around the room like horses. Standard behaviour – I’m not sure what else we should have expected really.
With the children finally in bed (although still rather excitable) Megan headed out for an evening run in her “Retro Run” t-shirt.

Once back and showered we loaded our homemade pizza bases with toppings and then settled in for a cuddle while watching some rubbish on the TV.
